Psychiatry Physician Job in Houston, TX

A large and well-respected health system in Houston, Texas is hiring a board-certified psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director of their inpatient unit.

Opportunity Highlights

• Lead a multidisciplinary team with two other psychiatric hospitalists, an NP, nursing staff, and social workers
• 24-bed general psychiatry unit for adults with complex medical and psychiatric illnesses
• The schedule is Monday through Friday with participation in weekend rounding pool
• EPIC EMR is utilized system-wide
• Roughly 20-25% of the time is spent on administrative duties such as serving as a liaison for training programs, determining census and admission criteria, collaborating with nursing leadership, supervising physician staff, coordinating the call schedule, providing backup support for admin during off-hours, working with the psychiatry consult services in the ED on admissions, helping to ensure policy and procedures are appropriate and implemented well, and more
• Training environment with medical students and residents; opportunities available for faculty appointment and/or collaboration with top-ranked academic intuitions

Compensation and Benefits Package
